How to Use Gift

Overview

Gift is a feature that lets you send balance as a gift to friends or family.

You can use it to introduce someone to your favorite shop or send a casual thank-you gift.

When you purchase a Gift, a dedicated URL and code are issued. By sharing the URL or code, the recipient can use the Gift directly at the shop or charge it to their account.

ℹ️ About Gift:

• Gifts can be purchased by credit card or in person at a shop.
• Depending on the e-money settings, people who have not registered as members may be able to use a Gift.
• Gifts have an expiry date.
• You can add a password to a Gift for security.

Send a Gift

You can send a Gift with the following steps.

1. Tap “Gift” on the Home screen
2. Select an amount, or tap “Enter amount” to enter an amount
3. Tap “Proceed to Confirm”
4. Tap “Add Message” to add a message, if needed
   • The message is shown on the Gift card
   • Tap “Save” to confirm the message
5. Check the details on the “Confirm Purchase Details” screen
   • Amount and message
   • Optional password from “Add Password”
   • Credit card used for payment
6. Tap “Confirm Purchase”
7. When the Gift is ready, the code and URL are shown
   • Tap “Share” to send the URL
   • Tap “Copy URL” to copy the URL

ℹ️ Checking a Gift you sent:

• You can reopen the Gift URL from Gift History.
• Once you confirm the purchase, it cannot be canceled.

Receive a Gift and use it at a shop

When you open the Gift URL, you can use the Gift directly for payment at the shop. Depending on the e-money settings, you may be able to use it without registering as a member.

1. Open the Gift URL you received
2. The Gift screen appears
3. Show the barcode or QR code on the screen to the staff
4. The staff scans the code and completes the payment

ℹ️ Notes when using a Gift at a shop:

• The barcode and QR code are valid for a limited time. A countdown is shown on the screen.
• If the code expires, refresh the screen to show a new code.
• If a password is set, you need to enter the password first.

Receive a Gift by charging it to your account

You can also charge the Gift balance to your own account. When you charge it, you may be eligible for member benefits such as point rebates.

Receive from a URL

1. Open the Gift URL you received
2. On the Gift screen, choose the action to register or charge it to your account
3. The Gift balance is charged to your account

Receive by entering a code

1. Tap “Charge” on the Home screen
2. Tap “Code” on the “Select Charge Method” screen
3. Enter the Gift code, which starts with GI
4. Tap “Continue”
5. The Gift balance is charged to your account

Add a password

You can add a password to improve Gift security. When a password is set, the recipient needs to enter it before showing the QR code or charging the Gift to an account.

Add a password when purchasing a Gift

• Tap “Add Password” on the purchase confirmation screen
• After you enter a password, the password is required to use the Gift
• To remove the password, tap “Turn off Password”

Add a password to a Gift you received

1. On the Gift screen, tap “Add Password”
2. Enter a password

ℹ️ About passwords:

• If a Gift does not have a password, the first person who receives it can set one.
• If the password is forgotten, the person who purchased the Gift can reset it.
