Set Up Bank Account Charge
Bank Account Charge lets members charge their balance without a credit card. The payment is debited from an account registered in the member’s own name, and charged balance is issued in your e-money.
Newly created e-money has Bank Account Charge on, together with Credit Card Charge, during Demo Mode. Both are turned off when you start your contract. Once you register a payout account, you can choose which to turn back on.
Get ready to accept bank charges
Section titled “Get ready to accept bank charges”In the Pokepay Shop App, open Menu → E-money Settings → Charge → Bank Account Charge. The Charge feature must be enabled. Outside Demo Mode, you also need a payout account to receive the proceeds. The settings screen guides you to register one if needed.
Enabling bank charging adds it to members’ charge methods. You can offer it alongside Credit Card Charge. Card amount settings remain separate.
Choose amounts for your members
Section titled “Choose amounts for your members”Presets let members select a common amount without typing. Offer smaller amounts for frequent small purchases or larger amounts for members who prefer charging in advance. You can add and reorder up to 20 presets.
To let members enter their own amount, enable custom input and set its minimum. At least one preset or custom input must remain available. If you use a conversion rate, check both the charged balance and the amount debited. Your e-money’s balance and transaction limits also apply.
Bank-funded Gift purchases use the Gift amount settings, separately from bank charge presets.
Help members recognize their bank statement
Section titled “Help members recognize their bank statement”Set a short Bankbook description that helps members recognize your shop or service. Use up to 9 half-width letters, numbers, katakana, spaces or hyphens. Full-width katakana is converted to half-width, so voicing marks also count as characters.
The bankbook description and amount settings are shown while bank account charging is enabled. Turning it off keeps these settings; turn it on again to review or change them.
Leave the field blank to use the standard description shown on the screen. Changes apply to future debits and do not alter previous statements.
Processing fees
Section titled “Processing fees”When members charge from a bank account or purchase a Gift from a bank account, the standard processing fee is 1.9% of sales (excluding tax). The rate may vary depending on your contract.
The processing fee and consumption tax on that fee are deducted automatically from the Payout amount. No separate payment is required.
Check proceeds and refunds
Section titled “Check proceeds and refunds”Transaction history and reports distinguish bank charges and bank-funded Gift purchases from card transactions. You can choose charge notifications in Notification Settings.
Bank proceeds become eligible for settlement after they match the bank’s transaction records. Unreconciled or discrepant proceeds are held until confirmed and included in a later closing. Issuing a member’s balance and finalizing your payout are separate processes. See Check Payouts and Set Your Payout Account.
Bank charges and bank-funded Gift purchases can only be canceled on the day of the debit (Japan Standard Time). The bank refund is processed after the transaction is canceled. If we cannot confirm that the automatic refund is complete, Pokepay investigates and handles the refund.
Disabling bank charging stops new charges. It does not remove past transactions or unsettled proceeds, and you can continue checking existing transactions and handling refunds.
Try it in Demo Mode
Section titled “Try it in Demo Mode”Demo Mode uses test accounts. No real bank account is debited or refunded. Use amounts such as JPY 1,000 to try a successful charge.
Demo debit amounts ending in 91–94 exercise failure handling: 91 simulates an unknown result followed by cancellation, 92 a response timeout, 93 a temporary error, and 94 rejection. Cases 91–93 eventually end in cancellation; case 94 fails immediately. With a conversion rate, these rules apply to the JPY debit amount rather than the value entered.
