Refund a Member's Balance

This feature is used to refund unused balance to a member who cannot continue using the e-money due to unavoidable circumstances.

Use it when the member themselves requests a refund.

ℹ️ Important Notes

  • Refunds are available only for unavoidable circumstances. Under the Payment Services Act, refunds are allowed only for unavoidable circumstances. We recommend adding the refund reason to the member note.
  • Pokepay cannot perform the refund on your behalf. The issuer has already received the Charged Balance amount, so Pokepay cannot perform the refund on your behalf.
  • We recommend handling the refund in person. If the refund is not handled face to face, it may be difficult to confirm that the refund has been completed. We recommend handling the refund in person at a Shop or similar location.
  • The issuer is responsible for using this feature. Pocket Change, Inc., the provider of Pokepay, assumes no responsibility for use of this feature.
  • Only owners or staff with the necessary permissions can use this feature. For safety, only owners or staff with the necessary permissions can use it.

Follow these steps to refund a member’s balance.

  1. Tap “Menu” in the navigation bar.
  2. Tap “Admin”.
  3. Tap “Advanced Features”.
  4. Tap “Refund”.
  5. Review the feature description and notes, then tap “Continue”.
  6. Select the member to refund from the list.
  7. A dialog recommending that you add the reason to the member note is displayed. Tap “Continue”.
  8. Enter the refund reason on the note screen, then tap “Save”.
  9. Enter the refund method, then tap “Continue”.
  10. On the confirmation screen, check the note, refund amount, and refund method, then tap “Start refund process”.
  11. The “Next step: Perform the refund” dialog is displayed. Tap “OK”.
  12. Check the member app and refund the unused balance in cash.

ℹ️ About the Refund Process

  • The refund amount and refund method are sent to the member’s registered email address.
  • Check the member app and refund the unused balance in cash.
  • If you want to deactivate the member after the refund, use the “Deactivate Member Account” feature separately.
